Styled Shoot at the Foundry LIC

Ah! When we decided to launch Rachel Behar Events, we knew some more styled photos would be in order, just to show our future clients what’s up our sleeves. Although we’ve planned, produced and executed hundreds of events over the years, most of them were on behalf of the companies we worked for, not for RBE.

Truth be told, this was not our first photoshoot. A couple years back, we felt like we were ready to launch RBE and we set up a photo shoot. It was small but mighty- needless to say, we loved it. But, it became apparent that the universe had different plans for us when all of our photos were destroyed. Yep- true story- a dog hit over a hard drive. It’s safe to say that we took that as a sign that we were not quite ready to launch and decided to pause our operations for a bit.

Fast forward two years later and RBE has fully launched! We knew we had to have an epic photo shoot. Over the years, Rachel has been fortunate to create personable and lasting relationships with some incredible vendors in NYC and beyond. She feels lucky to call some of them her close friends.

For the first RBE photoshoot, she wanted to bring on board vendors she felt were closest to her. Most importantly, she wanted people who represented her brand and were good people.

She decided to make the theme of the photoshoot a rehearsal dinner. What better way to do it than bring in an actual engaged couple? Rachel had the pleasure of getting to know Zoe & Josh, a newly engaged couple living in NYC. They’ve been together for nine years and are college sweethearts. It was a blast working with a real-life engaged couple and they truly were so kind, generous and loving.

Venue

We knew our first call was going to be to The Foundry LIC. Rachel has worked at The Foundry LIC over the years, has executed a handful of weddings and events there and just loves the ladies that run it- Allison, Angela & Lindsey. The Foundry LIC has so much character that any decor you bring in ultimately just compliments what the space already has to offer. We decided to showcase our set up in The Albra Room, The Greenhouse and The Pool Room.

Photographer

Next up, Joseph Lin Photography. Joe is a complete genius. He not only turns everything into photography gold but he also comes with a natural insight that’s a big bonus to any event you might have. He’s been a photographer for so long and has photographed so many events that he knows all the right questions to ask in terms of timing, lighting and what’s important to the client. You can be sure that he has your back if he’s on your team. He’s a true team player.

Florist

There are so many wonderful and talented florists in our hometown of Brooklyn, NY. We’ve had the privilege of working with Buds of Brooklyn over the years and Connie & Nicole are uber talented. They follow the seasons, are the perfect amount of trendy and classic and are creative bosses. We came to them with our ideas and they turned them into a story for us to follow. The inspiration was seasonal winter branches plus blooms, minimalist modern. They presented us with a curated mood board and we followed that for the rest of the shoot.
