Meet Rachel Behar
Founder and Lead Planner
Rachel Behar Events was born from Rachel’s lifelong passion for bringing people together.
Her love for planning began long before she embraced city life in the Big Apple. Whether orchestrating family dinners at the age of eight or founding an AIDS Awareness Club in high school, it seemed destined that she would one day create an event planning company.
For Rachel, magic happens when people gather, and that is the inspiration behind every celebration she curates.
Rachel brings more than passion to the table. She is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in both social and corporate event planning. Renowned for her discretion, she has collaborated with private clients and high-profile individuals alike.
With an intimate understanding of NYC’s premier venues, restaurants, hotels, and catering partners, Rachel has cultivated a network of trusted, masterful vendors. She transforms raw spaces and private residences into stunning, bespoke backdrops, turning visions into reality.

Meet Lizzie Torrance
Event Planner
Born and raised in Indiana, Lizzie’s love for joyous occasions began in the first grade when she was a flower girl in her aunt’s wedding. After graduating from the University of Dayton in Ohio, she moved to New York City to become a teacher in the Bronx, where she inspired and guided young students during the week. On the weekends, her passion led her to freelance for various event planning companies. Over time, Lizzie realized that orchestrating memorable moments was not just a hobby—it was her true calling.
She finally decided to pursue her passion full-time and began working at Brooklyn Winery on their events team. It was there that she met Rachel and went on to join team RBE, where she continues to bring her creativity and organizational expertise to every event. Lizzie loves creating unique experiences and building meaningful connections with her clients. When she’s not planning events, you can find her running through Central Park, baking for friends and family, and finding new adventures throughout the city.

We are based in New York City, but happy to travel to meet you wherever your celebration takes us.

We think outside the box, curate a unique vendor list for every client, and provide structured planning tools (because there’s a method to our madness!). Our goal is to bring your vision to life in a way that feels truly personal, stress free, seamless, and unforgettable.

We’re in the office from Monday to Friday from 10am-5pm. While we’re flexible with evening meetings, we need notice to secure them. It’s very rare that we can take weekend meetings (due to our wedding and social clients), BUT we will never say “no” before trying our best to accommodate.

Rachel takes pride in working with her clients personally, guiding every event from start to finish. When needed, she brings on carefully selected associates who collaborate closely with her. Over the years, she has met exceptional professionals and surrounds herself with like-minded, highly task-oriented individuals who share her dedication to excellence.

We are intentional about the clients and projects we accept, ensuring each receives the attention it deserves. We take on a maximum of 20 weddings per year, along with select corporate and social events.

RBE plans all types of events—weddings, corporate gatherings, and social celebrations. We’ve planned intimate events for 10 guests and galas for 800! Loved them all.

Absolutely. For the right client, we are always open to traveling—and have traveled often. Our passports are ready!
Whether your event is domestic or foreign, we’ll be there! Keep in mind, events outside of New York and the Tri-State area include additional fees.

We provide guidance every step of the way, from helping you select vendors to reviewing contracts. While you’ll be responsible for paying the vendors directly, we’ll keep you on track by sending upcoming payment reminders.

To start, couples should expect to spend a minimum of $1,500 per guest, for the wedding day only. Please note that this estimate covers the wedding night only—not our planning fee, wardrobe, or other expenses.
